SUMMARY:Meet the Winemaker Hike with Clay Mauritson
DESCRIPTION:Join sixth-generation Sonoma farmer and winemaker Clay Mauritson for an intimate alpine adventure through Telluride’s spectacular landscape. Limited to just eight guests\, this exclusive experience offers a rare opportunity to explore the mountains alongside a steward of one of California’s most storied agricultural legacies. \nFor more than 150 years\, the Mauritson family has farmed the rugged terrain of Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley\, cultivating a deep respect for the land that continues to shape Clay’s approach to winemaking today. Together\, guests will travel via gondola into Telluride before setting out on a guided hike to Bear Creek Falls\, where conversations unfold against a backdrop of soaring peaks\, alpine forests\, and rushing waterfalls. \nAlong the way\, Clay will share stories of family\, farming\, and the enduring connection between place and craft. The experience concludes with a rosé reception in Timber Room\, offering the perfect opportunity to continue the conversation over a glass of wine. \nBlending mountain adventure with personal storytelling\, this one-of-a-kind experience invites guests to discover the parallels between Sonoma’s vineyards and Telluride’s wild landscape through the eyes of a lifelong steward of the land.

SUMMARY:Palm Arts Presents: AVID Dance: The Wolff & Other Works
DESCRIPTION:Artistic Ventures in Dance (AVID) invites you to join us for “The Wolff & Other Works”\, an unforgettable evening at the Michael D. Palm Theatre. \nIn “The Wolff & Other Works” audiences will see: \nThe Wolff is a darker\, thought-provoking reimagining of the classic Little Red Riding Hood tale from the wolf’s perspective. Created by former Houston Ballet Principal Dancer and longtime AVID collaborator Melody Mennite\, the work uses vivid kinesthetic storytelling to challenge conventional notions of heroes and villains\, inviting audiences to confront fear\, bias\, and perception through a fresh interpretation of a familiar story. An AVID collaborator since the company’s inaugural season\, Mennite brings her distinctive artistic voice and creative vision to this compelling work. \nIn addition to The Wolff\, the audience will enjoy two pieces with Live Music: \nThe Center Does Not Hold is a collaborative exploration between choreographer Daniel Ojeda (former Ballet Idaho soloist) and Juilliard graduate and composer Kebra-Seyoun Charles\, and commissioned by AVID for the summer 2026 season. In a unique partnership and working arrangement\, it explores the forces of polarization and what happens when opposing ideals pull relentlessly apart\, threatening the bonds that once held them together. The music and movement are being created simultaneously\, allowing one to directly influence the other\, in real time. \nGerald Aprino’s Valentine is a quirky and humorous look at the battle of the sexes using a boxing arena as the setting for staccato and contemporary movement. It is really a dance for three\, including the solo double bassist\, Kebra-Seyoun Charles. Staged by Fabrice Camels and coached by Telluride resident Valerie Madonia. \nFounded by Emily Speed\, AVID creates original works that blend classical technique\, contemporary movement\, and storytelling. AVID seeks to inspire connection through the power of dance. \nGeneral Admission Seating \nAdvance Tickets: $35 Adult\, $25 Student\nAt the Door Tickets: $40 Adult\, $30 Student
