A new Colorado-made documentary celebrating the life, values, and
enduring influence of community leader Adam Palmer will arrive in Telluride on Saturday,
August 1, with a screening at the Sheridan Opera House at 7:00pm. This special screening
includes a post-film conversation with local leaders focused on building resilient and sustainable
mountain communities.
The Casual Enormity of Adam Palmer explores the remarkable legacy of Palmer — an outdoor
enthusiast, musician, family man, Eagle Town Council member, Holy Cross Energy board
member, and former Eagle County Director of Sustainability. Through stories from friends,
colleagues, and fellow community leaders, the film examines how one person’s everyday actions
can inspire lasting change.
Produced by the Adam Palmer Sustainability Fund with Risan Media, the documentary
highlights Palmer’s belief that community, innovation, and deliberate action can create
meaningful solutions to challenges ranging from clean energy and housing to transportation and
environmental stewardship.
“Adam had an extraordinary ability to bring people together,” said Risan Media’s Todd Anders
Johnson, the film’s Director. “This film isn’t simply about remembering Adam. It’s about
inspiring others to become part of the ripple effect that he created.”
The film’s Colorado tour began in Eagle and includes stops in Silverthorne, Nederland,
Carbondale, Boulder, Vail and Aspen. Select screenings will feature conversations with local
leaders and community members about building resilient and sustainable mountain communities.
Founded in 2021, the Adam Palmer Sustainability Fund honors Palmer’s legacy by supporting
local projects and partnerships aimed at achieving net-zero emissions and strengthening
communities through sustainability.
