Plein Air Paints the Fall

For the first time in its nearly 20 year history, the Telluride Plein Air Festival is happening in mid-September. Roughly half of the originally confirmed 25 artists came to Telluride for the delayed festival. KOTO spoke with some of the artists and with Ronnie Palamar, Executive Director of the Sheridan Arts Foundation—for whom this is the largest annual fundraiser—about this year’s unique festival and the art of outside painting.

    AmeriCorps Cuts Leave Hundreds in Colorado Without Service Roles, Prompting Legal Challenge

    Hundreds of AmeriCorps members in Colorado had their service terms abruptly ended after the Trump administration announced major funding cuts. Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera says the move threatens rural nonprofits, education programs, and public land conservation projects. Colorado has joined 24 other states in suing the federal government to block the cuts.
