2024 Election Coverage

The KOTO News team is covering elections!

We seek to provide listeners and the electorate with comprehensive, timely, and easily accessible information on candidates and the issues up for a vote. Our mission is to prioritize the questions and needs of the public, and be a point of contact between candidates, issues, and our entire community.

Our coverage will focus on demystifying the process, so voters can approach the ballot informed, candidates can address concerns and needs, and the entire community can be part of the conversation. We will ensure listeners have access to election materials (in English and Spanish) both through broadcast and on our website.

From the national to the state to the local, it's a big year for elections in our region and country! Follow along as the KOTO News Team broadcasts the latest results, takes listener calls, and reports live(ish) from polling locations.

With one day until the election, KOTO News presents a Voices of the Election Special / Un Especial de Voces de las Elecciones.

In the final election “Off the Record” before Election Day, we wrap up our coverage of 2024's election races and issues.

During the show we discuss Gondola Ballot Measure 3A, a pair of San Miguel County ballot measures, and feature a conversation with Commissioner Anne Brown, who is running uncontested to retain her seat representing the County’s District One.

Un programa en español de KOTO y escuche un mensaje especial de cada candidato que se postula para ser un representativo en el condado de san Miguel y una descripción general de cada medida de la boleta electoral.

KOTO News is covering all local issues this election season, including the two local ballot measures for the Norwood and Wrights Mesa communities.

In an election forum hosted live at the Lone Cone Library, Norwood School District Superintendent Todd Bissell and John Metzger of the Norwood Fire Protection District share information on the measures.

This November, Galena Gleason and Candy Meehan are vying to represent District 3 on the San Miguel Board of County Commissioners.

In an election forum hosted live at the Lone Cone Library in Norwood, the candidates discuss pressing issues facing the West end and the community at large.

Kicking off our official "Off the Record" election programming is a whistle stop tour of the 14 statewide ballot measures up for a vote this year. KOTO's Statehouse Reporter Lucas Brady Woods gives a rundown on everything from rank choice voting to abortion to hunting.

KOTO News is also covering important ballot measures in the region. Stories, once aired, will be linked below.
