Get your act together! The 35th KOTO Lip Sync Contest takes place on Saturday, January 25th, and we’re looking for the best lip sync-ers in Telluride! Join Telluride Theatre to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of The Downlow with an evening of local storytelling tomorrow, Monday, December 23rd, at the historic Sheridan Opera House! Hear favorite holiday (and non-holiday) stories from the past 10 years, as well as some special surprises. The event is free and open to everyone ages 21+. Telluride Mountain Village Owner’s Association (TMVOA) has decked the plazas with festive decorations for the holiday season! Check out special light displays and sleigh & throne ice sculptures throughout the Mountain Village Core. This week, look for Santa and his elves strolling the plazas; you may even find Santa on the mountain!
The Down Valley Community Angel Tree has moved and is now found in the Placerville Park by the Schoolhouse. Everyone is invited to add a symbol or ornament to the juniper tree to remember and honor a loved one who has passed. The tree will be redecorated each year.
This winter, compete in Seas of Trees downhill vertical ski challenge! Strap the skis or snowboard on and rip down the slopes and through the trees while you help support Seas of Trees next 1,000 trees planting effort, happening locally this summer. San Miguel County's free Holiday Tree Recycling lot, located at the Church Camp parking lot at the intersection of Ilium Road and Sunshine Mesa Road, will be open December 26th through January 15th. Please remove all lights and ornaments before disposing. No other disposal is permitted at this site.
