Wilkinson Public Library will be closed today, Wednesday, December 25th, to observe the Christmas holiday.

The Sheridan Arts Foundation presents the Holiday concert series at the historic Sheridan Opera House, featuring Telluride Theatre’s “Tease the Season: A Holiday Burlesque & Variety Show” on Thursday, December 26th, & Friday, December 27th, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, December 28th, catch tribute act ABBAFAB at 9 p.m.; Sunday, December 29th, put on your dancing shoes with Cool Cool Cool at 9 p.m. with an AfterSHOW by DJ Castle; Bluegrass breakouts The Fretliners play on Monday, December 30th, at 9 p.m.; and on Tuesday, December 31st, ring in the New Year with The Marsels at the New Year’s Eve Velour & Vinyl Gala – doors at 9 p.m., show at 10:30 p.m. with an AfterSHOW by Mr Sweaterz. The Town of Mountain Village presents several holiday-themed movie nights as part of its monthly Dinner and a Movie series at the Telluride Conference Center. On Friday, December 27th, it’s Die Hard; and on Saturday, December 28th, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Telluride Mountain Village Owner’s Association (TMVOA) has decked the plazas with festive decorations for the holiday season! Check out special light displays and sleigh & throne ice sculptures throughout the Mountain Village Core. This week, look for Santa and his elves strolling the plazas; you may even find Santa on the mountain!

The Down Valley Community Angel Tree has moved and is now found in the Placerville Park by the Schoolhouse. Everyone is invited to add a symbol or ornament to the juniper tree to remember and honor a loved one who has passed. The tree will be redecorated each year.

This winter, compete in Seas of Trees downhill vertical ski challenge! Strap the skis or snowboard and help support Seas of Trees next 1,000 trees planting effort, happening locally this summer. San Miguel County's free Holiday Tree Recycling lot, located at the Church Camp parking lot at the intersection of Ilium Road and Sunshine Mesa Road, will be open Thursday, December 26th, through January 15th. Please remove all lights and ornaments before disposing. No other disposal is permitted at this site.

Get your act together! The 35th KOTO Lip Sync Contest takes place on Saturday, January 25th, and we’re looking for the best lip sync-ers in Telluride!
