The annual Mushroom Parade is today, Saturday, August 17th at 4:30 p.m. on Main Street. Be there!

Tonight, Saturday, August 17th, the Ouray County Performing Arts Guild presents the 41st Annual San Juan Chamber MusicFest Festival Concert at the Wright Opera House in Ouray. Max Levinson and the Ulysses Quartet will present a marvelous evening of chamber music featuring masters of the 20th century – Debussy’s “Estampes” (suite for solo piano), the monumental "Piano Quintet" of Shostakovich, and string quartets by Janacek and Tailleferre. A reception in the Tavern at the Wright will follow the concert. Music starts at 7:30 p.m.

New Telluride High School students and upcoming 9th graders will have orientation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 19th, at THS. New Middle school students and upcoming 7th graders orientation is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Telluride Elementary School and Telluride Intermediate School supply drop off and ice cream social will also be Monday, from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The San Miguel Educational Fund – that’s KOTO’s governing board – holds a regular meeting on Monday, August 19th at 5:15 p.m. in the Telluride Room at Wilkinson Public Library. The public is invited to attend, and the meeting agenda can be found at koto.org.

Telluride Science & Telluride Foundation host 'Greening the Bottom Line: The Business of Carbon Credits' on Wednesday, August 21st at 5:40 p.m. Through a discussion moderated by local climate scientist Adam Chambers, a panel of industry experts will explore how carbon markets and innovative financial strategies are shaping the fight against climate change.

The Wilkinson Public Library wants to thank YOU for another wonderful summer with a Banana Split Bash on Thursday, August 22nd! Head to the library terrace at 4 p.m. for ice cream & live music with Warren Gilbreath. This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome!

A screening of the documentary “Awadagin Pratt: Black in America” will be held at Wilkinson Public Library on Thursday, August 22nd at 6 p.m. This film is co-presented by Telluride Chamber Music, prior to Pratt’s appearance at the Palm Theater with Trio Duende on August 24th.

Join Mountainfilm at the Sheridan Opera House on Friday, August 23rd for their summer fundraiser, a special community screening of Champions of the Golden Valley. This incredible film screened as a sneak peek at the 2024 Mountainfilm Festival. Reception at 6 p.m.; show at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at mountainfilm.org!
